Sigma Chess is a freeware, master strength Macintosh chess program for Mac OS X. The feature set includes: Optional HIARCS engine, UCI Engine support, Databases, PGN/EPD, basic desktop publishing, endgame databases, novice levels, a true perspective 3D board, ExaChess compatibility and much more. Sigma also runs on Classic Mac OS, but this is no longer officially supported.

5. Fritz, Chessbase, and Window Chess Products:
On the Intel Macs, with either Parallels 5.0 , or Fusion software you can run any
Window based Chess Product. Beside the above software,( either one) you also need a Window Operating System, XP, Vista, or Windows 7.
Do not install a previously installed licensed product of Windows.
You need a new licensed copy.
Chess CDs, such as Lasker, Tal, Steinitz will run and quite well.
MacWorld bench marks indicated Intel Macs run Windows just as fast as Window Computers. Recommendation; When purchasing a new Mac as for a large Hard Drive, and increased memory to avoid problems.
