Judit Polgar Woman Chess Player

Judit Polgar female chess player

Judit Polgar. When we talk about women chess players, we have to definitely include Judit as the main subject. She has accomplished so much in her chess career. The greatest attacking female chess player of all time would be a title well deserved for this young lady. She has enlited all followers of chess with her mastery of the game. Extraordinarily talented and above all beautiful, this lady has defeated many of the top men's grandmasters. Judit is the strongest female chess player in the history of the game.

Judit achieved the title of Grandmaster at the tender age of 15, and at that time was the youngest chess player to do that. A ranking in the top 60 in the world of all chess players. She has two sisters who are also great chess players and were trained by their father at an early age to play the game.

Judit has played most of her professional games against men, and at this time has never competed in the Women's World Championship.

(Trained in her early years by her sister Susan, who ultimately became Women's World Champion, Judit Polgár was a prodigy from an early age. At age five she defeated a family friend without looking at the board. After the game the friend joked, "You are good at chess, but I'm a good cook." Judit replied, "Do you cook without looking at the stove?" However, according to Susan, Judit was not the sister with the most talent, explaining "Judit was a slow starter, but very hard-working." She first defeated an International Master, Dolfi Drimer, at age 10, and a Grandmaster, Vladimir Kovacevic, at age 11.) - Wikipedia

By age 12, she was rated 2555. Before age 13 she was one of the top 100 players in the world. It will be a long time before we see another child female chess player who has accomplished so much in the game as Judit. Judit is by far "amazing." Judit Polgar on the Famous Women Chess player page.

Judit Polgar The Best Woman in the Game Still Stands Alone at the Top

Judit's aggressive style and competitive nature has earned her much respect and admiration from both fans and fellow players. She will plan each move of the pieces by analyzing her opponent's style, and making her moves in response to their strategy. She is a very flexible chess player.

"(Judit's attacks are the ultimate in terms of viciousness ... surviving her attack is almost impossible. Her aggressive style is so intimidating that the most important thing is to remain calm... the worst part is that she exploits every tiny mistake you make.)" - GM Schwartzman

In 2004, Judit took time off from chess to give birth to her son, Oliver. She was considered inactive and was not listed on the January 2005 FIDE rating list. Her sister Susan, reactivated her playing status during this period and became ranked the world's number one woman player again.

In 2005, Judit became the first woman to play for the World Chess Championship title. However, she had a disappointing performance, coming last out of eight competitors. Nigel Short criticized her poor opening repetoire, and some even speculated that taking a year off to have a baby may have left her rusty, despite her strong performances in two tournaments earlier in the year.
