Annotated Chess

Annotated chess games? Studying annotated (games with comments) is a great way to see why certain moves are good or bad. There are several types of annotations: Annotations of selected games, Annotations that follow a certain theme, Variation-focused annotations, and Teaching-annotations.

Annotated grandmaster's games dig deep into long plans and complicated variations. Their annotations are usually for the top-ranked players and do not give basic explanations.

The study of annotated games can be done with chess software. For example, a program like Fritz 8. You can also go to certain chess websites and find games there. YouTube also has some videos that annotate. At ChessWorld.net there are more than 2000 ChessWorld games, played by Members and annotated by Members.
